INTRODUCTION
God has a divine purpose for every believer. His desire is not only for us to know His will but also to accomplish it. However, divine assignments cannot be fulfilled through human wisdom, strength, or talent alone. God empowers His children through the Holy Spirit to live victoriously, serve effectively, overcome obstacles, and fulfil His divine purpose.
To be “empowered” means to be endued with God’s enabling power, ability, and strength to do what you cannot do by yourself. Check Ephesians 3:20.
“Divine Fulfillment” speaks of God’s purpose for your life coming to pass.
▪︎Not just personal success, but completing what God ordained for you. See Ephesians 2:10.
▪︎The Holy Spirit is given to us so we can fulfill God’s purpose.
THE SOURCE OF OUR EMPOWERMENT (HOLY SPIRIT)
We cannot fulfill divine purpose with human strength. Zechariah 4:6 says “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
Luke 24:49 says “Tarry until you are endued with power from on high”
▪︎ Believers of today are already empowered because the Holy Spirit is in them. Romans 8:11 says “The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you.”
THE PURPOSE OF OUR EMPOWERMENT (TO BE WITNESSES)
In Acts 1:8, Jesus connected “Empowerment” with “Assignment” and “Fulfillment.”
▪︎Divine Power is not for show or pride. It is for assignment.
▪︎Our first assignment is witnessing “…you shall be witnesses to Me.” See also 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (Ministry of reconciliation)
▪︎Witnessing is not only by carrying bible to preach but also through your character, attitude, speech, and through whatever platform God has placed you. Check Matthew 28:18-20.
▪︎Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Ends of the earth means start with your home, expand to your community, nation, and world.
▪︎God has empowered every believer to represent Him wherever they are.
THE RESULT OF OUR EMPOWERMENT (DIVINE FULFILLMENT)
When we are Spirit-empowered, God’s plan for us cannot fail.
Philippians 2:13 says “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure”_
▪︎Ephesians 2:10 says “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand.”
▪︎Fulfillment is finishing your God-given assignment with joy.
Reflection: 1. What is the difference between human ambition and “Divine Fulfillment”?
2. Why do believers still run around looking for what they already have in Christ?
CONCLUSION
As a Christian believer, everything you need to live a successful and fulfilled life here on earth has been deposited in your spirit man by the virtue of the Spirit of Christ dwelling in you. You have been empowered to fulfil the plan and purpose of God for your life. Believe it, receive it by faith and it will manifest in your life.
